“True belonging lies not in clinging to the familiar, but in daring to explore the depths of our own souls and embracing the journey of self-discovery with courage, vulnerability and authenticity.”
As I reflected on Root Beginnings turning one, I kept coming back to this piece by Yung Pueblo:
“Pick the path that lights you up.
The one you know deep down is the right choice.
Stop listening to doubt.
Start connecting with courage.
Do not let the idea of normal get in the way.
It may not be the easy path.
But you know great things take effort.
Lean into determination.
Lean into your mission.
Lean into the real you.”
The journey starts when you make a choice to follow the path that lights you up. It doesn’t mean that everything magically falls into place, far from it.
What I have learned is that when we actively show up in shaping a life we truly want to create, one which is inspired by our unique aspirations and fuelled by our authentic capabilities, the experience becomes more full, more whole, more lived.
The authentic streams of self which come together after a lifetime of separation can cause a churn, it can feel uncomfortable and unfamiliar. It certainly has for me as I continue to explore and deepen my connection with my holistic, authentic sense of self.
Some parts of the journey are calm and serene, while others are wild and turbulent.
That is all part of it.
I feel extremely proud of this special seed of an idea which has rooted and emerged into the world.
‘Returning to the root, getting clear on the why and untangling the how’ has been a lived and breathed experience for me, and it continues to be a guide as I enter into the second year of Root Beginnings.
