Sharing Stories as we Journey to the Root

Featuring Stella Taliadoros: Ready to get rooted? Delve into Stella's story of connection, creativity and community as subtle signs from her heart guided her back to her roots.

In the heart of Waltham Forest, there’s a place that radiates a unique energy, drawing in those who seek solace, healing, and connection. This place is the Twelfth House, and it has become a sanctuary for many in our community, myself included.

At the core of this magical space is Stella Taliadoros, a creator, counselor, and energy healer whose journey to establish the Twelfth House is as inspiring as the space itself.

When I had just launched Root Beginnings, I was walking along a street not far from our home in Walthamstow, a new establishment caught my eye, and I felt a perspicuous pull to go inside.

The energy I felt was visible. I felt mesmerised by the calm and tranquility, yet equally stimulated by the inspiring array of things around me.

Stella struck up conversation with a confident ease which has always stuck with me. Straightforwardly diving into matters of the heart, the need to trust ourselves and our purpose in life; unknowingly offering me the courage I needed as I began my journey with Root Beginnings.

Stella’s story:

Stella's story begins in Walthamstow, where she grew up. Her family ran a coffee shop in the heart of the community, it was there that she first discovered her innate ability to connect with people. Customers would come in for a cup of coffee and end up sharing their stories with her. This natural inclination to listen and help others has always been a part of Stella’s life.

Amongst the connectivity with customers, the cafe was still a busy environment, fuelled by masculine energy and constantly feeling the pressure to always be doing something. It was a way of life and she had become comfortable with that.

The aftermath of COVID-19 offered a shift for Stella. She found herself reconnecting with her femininity, which for her meant slowing down, taking longer walks in nature, and opening up to her creativity - parts of her she had not connected with before.

Through this connection she learned how to go with the flow, to understand that “there is no bad or good, this is the experience I am having, I am a human.”

Embodying this perspective broadened her sense of purpose, and she began to connect more with her dream of creating a space for different therapies, community, and connection.

Stella, a natural risk taker, decided to take a leap of faith and move away from the family business. She chose to study counselling to continue her path to help others.

Her family owned a community space, which she had been telling herself wasn’t big enough or suitable for what she wanted to create. But something within her had shifted, taking time to reconnect and slow down had connected Stella with her heart, a gentle whisper of guidance that was telling her:

why not just try?

Eighteen months ago, The Twelfth House came to life, a natural extension of Stella’s vision and heart.

Stella's approach has always been organic and intuitive. A friend once said to her, 'when you peel back everything, what is it you do?'

She continues to ask herself this question, but growth is at the core, planting the seeds and letting them grow naturally.

It was not always clear how things will turn out, Stella’s journey has had many challenges along the way. Through her trust in her intuition and dedication to making decisions that have felt right; she has been able to tune into her body, listen to its signals, and take small steps at a time.

Stella’s journey to establish the Twelfth House is a testament to the power of vision, courage, and community. She reminds us that growth takes time and that we are worthy of our dreams. Her story encourages us to pause, create space, and connect with our hearts. It is in these moments of stillness and reflection that we find our true selves and the courage to pursue our dreams.

The Twelfth House is more than just a physical space; it is a manifestation of Stella’s heart and vision. In a world that often feels disconnected, the Twelfth House stands as a reminder that connection starts within. It is a place where we can come together, share our stories, and find healing and connection. As Stella continues to nurture this beautiful sanctuary, she invites us all to join her on this journey of self-discovery and community building.

I asked Stella what her biggest lesson so far has been, she said:

"To pause and create space. Physical, metaphorical, whatever it looks like - create the space you need to breathe, to see, to feel, to be.”
