Where Summer Speaks to the Senses

In the simplest of ways

I woke up early this morning – the sunrise gently nudged me to go outside. I sat in my favourite spot in the garden, simply observing:

The moon slowly fading, as the sun rose.

Spider webs glimmering in the sun light.

Young, yellow rose buds about to come into bloom.

Ripe, juicy damsons hanging from the tree.

Bees buzzing around the honeysuckle flowers.

I was struck by the simplicity of what I saw, relative to the joy I felt.

Summer is a feeling. A time to feel alive in this world. A season to embrace, to take a big breath of possibility.

What does summer mean to you?
