When butterflies in your tummy are a sign you’re on the right path
This morning, the butterflies in my tummy are fluttering stronger and stronger. Every part of my body is tingling with excitement. Imagine Tigger bouncing around—quite fitting really, as I’m actually perched on an exercise ball while I work!
Why am I so excited?
Because on Wednesday I fly to Colombia.
Back to Madre Cocoon in Santa Elena, 8,000ft up in the mountains, surrounded by nature. The place where I spent three months re-learning how I wanted to live my life.
I didn’t know that at the time.
That is the magic of nature. It heals, transforms, and inspires us quietly from the inside out—reconnecting us with ourselves in ways nothing else can.
When I first arrived at Madre Cocoon, I was a version of myself I hardly recognise now. Someone who didn’t know how to rest, how to listen to my body, or how to tune into my intuition. Back then, I didn’t even realise those things mattered.
My whole life I thought I had to conform, perfect, push through, toughen up. That sacrificing mental and physical health was somehow a badge of ‘success.’
Slowly but surely, nature helped me re-learn and untangle from those beliefs. It allowed me to truly see myself beneath the layers of conditioning.
It taught me to feel empowered in my own unique way:
- Returning to who I was at the root, underneath it all
- Getting clear on my why—what mattered most to me
- Gently untangling the how, so I could find my own path, at my own pace
This has since become the foundation of my own personal growth, and the way I now support my clients.
I’ve learned that space is the essential ingredient. Space to see ourselves clearly. To understand who we are. To cultivate the courage to bring our authentic selves into the world.
Madre Cocoon welcomes you into that space with open arms and an open heart. In her embrace, you heal and reconnect.
And when we reconnect with ourselves—when we understand our unique gifts—we have a responsibility to offer them to the world. That is our purpose.
So, it’s an immense honour to be going back to a place that gave me so much. To hold space for our group next week, as we experience what it feels like to reconnect with nature—and therefore, with our true selves.
And perhaps this is the question I leave you with: where are your butterflies leading you right now? What excitement, however small, is nudging you forward?
Sometimes, following those butterflies are the clearest sign we’re heading in the right direction.
